At our academy, we believe in providing students with a comprehensive education in the field of aviation and aeronautics. Our curriculum is designed to give students a solid foundation in the history and theory of flight, while also providing hands-on learning experiences with real-world applications.
Aviation History: Students will learn about the evolution of aviation and the key figures who have shaped it. They will study the early days of flight, the development of military and commercial aviation, and the current state of the industry.
Theory of Flight: Students will study the principles of flight including lift, drag, thrust, and weight. They will also learn about aircraft systems, navigation, and meteorology.
Drones: Students will learn about drone technology and how it is used in various industries. They will also have the opportunity to fly drones and work on drone-related projects.
Hot Air Balloons: Students will learn about the history of hot air ballooning, the physics behind it, and the steps required to launch and operate a hot air balloon.
Model Builds: Students will have the opportunity to work on model aircraft and hot air balloon builds, learning about aircraft design and construction in the process.
Probability and Statistics: Students will learn about how probability and statistics are used in aviation, such as weather forecasting, navigation, and aircraft design.
Aircraft Design: Students will learn about the design and construction of aircraft, including aerodynamics, materials, and aircraft systems.
Aircraft Mechanics: Students will learn about aircraft maintenance, including inspection, repair, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems.
Flight Attendants: Students will learn about the role of flight attendants and the skills required to become one.
The Future of Aviation: Students will learn about emerging technologies in aviation, such as electric aircraft, autonomous flight, and space travel. They will also learn about the challenges and opportunities facing the aviation industry in the future.

The opening ceremony for the Aviation Career Education Academy (ACE) will be June 2022 for both Middle School & High School students starting at Mazie S. Woodruff Aviation Technology Lab.
